Day to Day Travel Slate:
Day1:Colombo – Bentota (85 km, 2 Hrs)
Bentota is a 2hrs (85Kms) drive from the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. At the airport, you will be greeted by your tour representative, and after that, you will directly head over to Bentota.
The beach town of Bentotaislocated inthe southern part of Srilanka. With its golden sea beaches and lush green landscapes crawling with tall palm trees, Bentota is a popular tourist site among the outsiders and the locals.
Check-in to a sea-side resort from where you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the sandy beach and the melodious sound of the sea at all times. You can spend the rest of the day at ease at the beach, or you can also take a boatride inthe afternoon. Stay the night in Bentota.
Day2:Bentota
In the morning, after breakfast, leave the hotel for a day-long tour around Bentota. Start your tour with the Kosgoda turtle hatchery. Srilankan beaches are nests for a variety of turtles. Next, take a boatride on the Maddu River and visit different temples, Cinnamon estates, and other nature-friendly resorts. Such nature resorts are also wildlife sanctuaries.
After the tour, come back to the hotel and spend some time at the beach. Have dinner and spend the night in Bentota.
Day3:Mirissa (100 km, 2 Hrs)
The next day, you will leave Bentota and move over to Mirissa after breakfast.
Mirissa is another beach town with blue waters and golden beach. The place is famous for the variety of water-sports that it offers along with the whale watching activity.
On arrival, check-in to a premium hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and engaging in different types of water-sports. Come back to the hotel and spend the night in Mirissa.
Day4:Mirissa
You will leave the hotel for Mirissa Harbour at 5am. Board a boat at 6:30am and go on a whale watching tour. You will be provided with all the necessities, such as breakfast, water, life jackets, GPS, and passenger insurance. You will see Blue whales, Sperm whales, Bryde’s whales, and large pods of spinner and Bottle-nose dolphins on the trip.
In the afternoon, you will take a walking tour at the Galle Fort. You will walk pastthe old Dutch Church, Governor’s House. The spice warehouses, Court Square, Kacheri (Town Hall), the lighthouse, and many other things. In the evening, return to the hotel after a day-long tour and spend the night at Mirissa.
Day5:Tangalle
Your next destination is Tangalle. After breakfast, you will leave Mirissa and drive over to Tangalle.
The beautiful unexplored town of Tangalle is another gem located in the country of Srilanka. The perfect spot for fishing, Tangalle, is also known for breeding giant turtles.
After settling down at your hotel, you cantake the rest of the day off and relax on your own. Or, you can also go out and wander around the town visiting the Rekawa Turtle Conservation project. If you visit the place at night,, and you will see species of turtles laying eggs every night throughout the year.
At night come back to the hotel and spend the night in Tangalle.
Day6:Yala National Park
In the morning, leave for Yala National Park (90kms, 2hrs). After checking in to the resort, rest for a while. Later in the after go out to visit the national park. You will take a look around the park with the help of a park-tracker. Come across the wildlife in their natural habitat at the most visited national park of Srilanka. See the leopards, crocodiles, monkeys, peacocks, and colorful storks.
After the visit, come back to the resort and spend the night there.
Day7:Bundala – Colombo
Early in the morning, check-out from the hotel after breakfast and be on your way to see Hambantota, a town that survived the 2004 Tsunami. You can also decide to visit the nearby Bundala game sanctuary for a photo safari.
Later, drive back to Colombo, check-in to a hotel, and spend the night.
Day8:
On the last day of the trip, you will be cruising around Colombo, floating through the Fort, the commercial and city center of the capital city. You will be tempted to indulge in some shopping at the markets and bazaars in Pettah, visit the National Museum and witness its fine collection of antiques. You will also pass by the Town Hall and Independence Square.
Later in the day, you will drive to the airport to catch your flight back home with a heart filled with wonderful memories of this long international vacation.
