Overview:

Jhalong is an exquisite village by the bank of the Jaldhaka River and is located close to the Indo-Bhutan border. The ecstatic scenic beauty and the splendid destinations that you will come across on this four days trip are truly worth cherishing. The journey from Jhalong to Gajoldoba via Gorumara gives plenty of opportunity to the bird lovers to enjoy and observe the colorful and varied species of Himalayan and Migratory Birds. The Safaris in the forests amidst the enriching flora and fauna and exploring the variety of birds is a delight for most Birding Enthusiasts. The destinations are in the core of nature and will give you some of the most memorable glimpses to capture. Spending time boating in the calm Teesta River is truly breathtaking. It is the perfect holidaying experience if you wish to quit the rat race for a while and spend some time in the blissful and serene environment enveloped with the chirping of birds, greenery, and wildlife.

Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1:

On your arrival at the Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station, you will be received by our representatives. With a 100 km drive for 2.5 hours, you will be transferred to Jhalong. Jhalong has an ecstatic scenic beauty and is a perfect destination to spend a blissful time away from the hustle-bustle of the city. On reaching the location, you will check in to the resort. After relaxing for a while and having lunch, you will be accompanied by a Professional Guide/Birder who will give you a tour of the magnificent Cardamom Plantations that seem to stretch for miles. You will also witness the panoramic view of the Hanging bridge, which is very popular amongst the visitors. Then spend the entire day observing the colorful winged creatures, and know about them. Some of the commonly seen species of birds in this area are Eurasian Wryneck, Crested Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Little Forktail, Hodgson’s Redstart. After the delightful day, you will have your dinner and overnight stay in the resort at Jhalong.

Day2:

Today, with an early morning rise and a refreshing cup of coffee /tea, you will head towards our next stop. It will be a 45 km journey for an hour to the Gorumara National Park. On the way through the winding roads, you will come across two spots, Suntalekhola and Samsing. Both the stopovers offer heavenly glimpses of nature, and the birds that are housed there can be easily seen. As soon as you reach and check in to the resort, you will finish your lunch and leave for the afternoon, Jungle Safari. This exciting Safari through the forest will help you spot varied species of Wild Animals and Birds that the National Park is known for. Some of the easily located fauna of Gorumara is the Scarlet Minivet, Sunbird, Asian Paradise Flycatchers, Spangled Drongo, and Indian Hornbill. This place is an exquisite destination for Bird Lovers. Overnight stay and dinner will be in the resort at Gorumara.

Day3:

Today, as you wake up early, you will proceed for the early morning Jungle Safari and a marvelous Birding Adventure in the Gorumara forest. The Professional Birder who will accompany you will provide you information about the colorful chirping birds and also help you spot them. Once the enjoyable experience is over, you will retreat to the resort for a delicious breakfast and then check out to leave for Gajoldoba. Gajoldoba is our last destination of the trip and is at a distance of 42 km. As you drive for an hour, you can witness the panoramic landscapes and splendid scenery on the way. On reaching, you will relax for a while and have your lunch in the resort at Gajoldoba. Gajoldoba is famous for the peaceful and calm environment with the sight of majestic hills leaning over from a distance. You will spend your afternoon boating in the clear flowing Teesta River, along with a Professional Guide as well as a local Fisherman. You can enjoy the serene atmosphere of the place and the cold water kissing your feet as you step in. The riverbeds are visible during the winter season as the water level subsides. You can witness and capture beautiful pictures of the varied species of migratory birds like Mallard, Common Shellduck, Ruddy Shellduck, Common Merganser, Bar-headed Geese, Northern Lapwing, River Lapwing, and Red Crested Pochard. After the unique boat ride and Birding Adventure, you will return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay.

Day4:

Today, as your trip comes to an end, soon after breakfast, you will prepare to leave. You will check out of the resort and proceed towards Bagdogra airport or NJP Railway station for your return journey with lots of memories and a camera full of colorful winged angels.
