This short six days trip will take you along the beautiful destinations of Gajoldoba, Gorumara, Jaldapara, and Jayanti. All of these destinations have spectacular scenery and are known for their biodiversity. The majestic snow-peaked mountains witnessed from Gajoldoba is a mesmerizing sight. Spending time boating in the Teesta River and observing the colorful birds is truly blissful. The Baikunthapur Forest and the woodland birding adventure there amidst the rhododendrons in the lap of Nature is one of the best moments of this vacation. Jeep and Elephant Safaris to enjoy and explore the hidden winged creatures in the dense forests is as exciting as it seems. Day to Day Travel Slate

Day 1:

On your arrival at the Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station, you will be received by our representatives. With a one hour drive, you will soon be transferred to Gajoldoba, where you will check into the resort. You can relax for a while amidst the blissful scenic beauty in the lap of Nature. In the afternoon after lunch, you will spend your time boating in the splendid Teesta River, where you will be guided by a professional and also have the company of a Local Fisherman. During the winters, you can step into the flowing river to capture some pictures of the chirping migratory birds, as the retreats and the river beds are clearly visible. Birds like Mallard, Common Shellduck, Ruddy Shellduck, Common Merganser, Bar-headed Geese, Northern Lapwing, River Lapwing, Red Crested Pochard can be easily spotted while enjoying the delightful boat ride. Later in the evening, you will return to the resort for dinner. Overnight stay at Gajoldoba.

Day 2:

Today, with an early morning rise, you will head towards Baikunthapur Forest. This forest is cradled between the Mahananda River in the west and the Teesta River in the east. It is quite a favorite spot for bird lovers. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, one can witness various species of Himalayan birds. After spending some time experiencing Woodland Birding in the serene ambiance, you will return for breakfast to the resort. Soon after that, you will start your journey towards Gorumara, which will be our next destination. It is a 40 km distance to Gorumara National Park and will take an hour to reach. Gorumara National Park is quite popular amongst tourists for its enriching flora and fauna. On reaching, you will have your lunch at the resort and, with a Jungle Safari, explore the forest in the afternoon. If you are lucky, you can witness a lot of wild animals and birds like Scarlet Minivet, Sunbird, Asian Paradise Flycatchers, Spangled Drongo, and Indian Hornbill. You will spend your night in the resort at Gorumara National Park.

Day 3:

Today, you will begin your day with a cup of tea or coffee and proceed for an early morning Jungle safari. To have an extraordinary Birding Adventure, you will have the assistance of a professional Birder. He/She will not only help you spot our adorable winged friends but will also help you with their names and species.After engaging safari, you will be backto the resort for breakfast. Next, you will check-out and leave for the Jaldapara Forest, which is a 78 Km drive for 1.5 hours. Jaldapara National Park is a wide grassland by the bank of the Torsa River. It is a riverine forest, and the riversTorsa, Malangi, Hollong, Chirakhawa, Kalijhora, Sissamara, Bhaluka, and Buri Torsa tread their way through this region. This forest houses various mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and birds.On your arrival, you will check-in to the resort at Jaldapara. Then you can spend the rest of your day amidst the refreshing and diverse wildlife and vegetation in a Jeep Safari. The overnight stay will be at Jaldapara National Forest in the resort.

Day 4:

Today, you will be prepared for the extraordinary experience of an Elephant Safari early in the morning. The forest known for its varied species of animals and birds is quite adventurous while exploring and witnessing them. It is a hub for over 240 species of birds residing in the grasslands, woodlands, and water bodies. Some of the famous birds that are a treat to the eyes are Crested Eagle, Pallas’s Fish Eagle, Shikra, Finn’s Weaver, Jungle Fowl, Peafowl (Peacock), Partridge, and Lesser Pied Hornbill. After the exciting safari, you will return to the resort for breakfast and then move forward with your trip for the last destination. With a 1.5 hours ride and covering a distance of 150 km, you will proceed to Buxa with an en-route visit to Totopara. On your arrival, you will check in to the hotel and relax for a while. Then you will prepare for a thrilling Forest Safari in the charming tourist spots of Jayanti and Rajabhatkhawa. These spots are very popular for Bird Watching, and one can spend their entire day in this blissful environment observing and capturing some of the best moments of this vacation. The well-known species of birds seen here are Blue Whistling Thrush, Black-crested Bulbul, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Ashy Woodswallow, and Asian Barred Owlet. After the refreshing day, you will come back to the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 5:

This day will have two exciting activities of your choice in store for you. You can choose only two as it takes an entire day completely to relish them. The two activities can be selected from the list below:

• Trek in Buxa
• Jayanti village
• Lechakha
• Raimatang
• Sikhijhora
• Buxa fort / Buxa Duar

Since you will spend the entire day in your adventurous conquests, packaged lunch will be served on the journey. With the enthusiastic day full of fun activities coming to an end, you will return to the resort for dinner and overnight stay at Jayanti.

Day 6:

As your Birding Adventure comes to an end, you will have your breakfast at the resort and then prepare to leave for your hometown with delightful and fascinating memories of the trip. After checking out from the resort, you will proceedtowards Bagdogra airport or NJP Railway station for your return journey.
