Rajasthan is one of the most beautiful and cultural states of India. The traditional Palaces, the elegant Gardens, the picturesque Lakes and the historic forts and museums attract tourists from all over the world. In this two weeks long trip, you will travel across the ten most popular cities of Rajasthan along with the Capital of India, New Delhi. This journey will take you along the destinations of New Delhi, Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Mt. Abu, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Pushkar, and Jaipur. The magnificent Temples, the joyful experiences of Camel Safaris, and the wonderfully arranged Cultural Programmes or Light and Sound Shows are sure to take away your breath. The unique handicrafts from the Local Markets and a lifetime of colorful holidaying experience are what you will take back home after this royal trip to Rajasthan.
Day to Day Travel Slate:
Day1:
On your arrival at the Delhi Airport or Railway station you will be received by our representatives. After Check-in at the hotel, you will proceed for sightseeing of Delhi. Delhi is the capital of India, and it is full of culture and traditions. The first half of the day is covered by visiting Rajghat and Shantibana, the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, respectively. After the sacred visit, you will head to the famous Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.In the afternoon,you will visit some of the majestic architectural structures like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, and India Gate, the War Memorial Arch. Our last destination for the day would be Lakshmi Narayan temple, which is a modern temple of Hindus. We will drive past President’s house, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings, and Connaught Place Shopping Center on our way back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day2:
After early morning breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to Mandawa, which is a 258 Km journey for 6 hours. Mandawa is a small town known for the delightful historic structures. On reaching, you will check-in to the hotel and, after a short break, visit the beautiful Mandawa Castle. Thereon proceed to the Grand Havelis of Mandawa or optional visit to Open Air Art Gallery, which comprises almost the whole city. In the evening you can indulge yourself in shopping at the local market and enjoy their culture interacting with friendly people. Overnight stay at Mandawa.
Day3:
Today, after breakfast, we will drive to Bikaner, which is an old city that is well known for its sand dunes andpalaces and forts. With a 195 km journey for 3 hours, you will reach Bikaner. Once you check-in to the hotel, we will start exploring the city. First, you will visit the Junagarh Fort, which is the main attraction of Bikaner. It is an ecstatic structure made of Red Sandstones and will take around 2-3 hrs to enjoy the royal and ancient fort. After lunch, you will go to Station Road or Kote Gate for shopping traditional items and handicrafts. These markets are full of local items like paintings, footwear, and clothes. Also, do not forget to visit Chotu Motu Joshi, a famous sweet shop. Overnight stay at Bikaner.
Day4:
You will start your day by visiting the sacred Karnimata temple, followed by a visit to the Lalgarh Palace and the Rampuriya Haveli, which are well known for their traditional and cultural beauty. The Lalgarh Palace is an amalgamation of the Rajputana, Islamic and European architecture. And the Rampuria Haveli is inspired by the Victorian Era with wonderful wooden carvings. In the afternoon, you will visit the Jain Temple Bhandasar, which is visited by devotees from all across the country. The last destination would be the National Research Centre, which researches on Camels and their breeds and is uniquely the only one in Asia. You will visit the research centre on Camel, which will be a 8 km ride. After the joyful camel ride, you will return to the hotel and overnight stay at Bikaner.
Day5:
With an early morning breakfast, your journey towards Jaisalmer, which will be 332 Km, will begin. Jaisalmer is a historic location as it lies close to Pakistan and the Thar Desert. On reaching Jaisalmer, you will check-in to the hotel. Later in the day after lunch,you will visit the beautiful sites of Vyas Chhatri and Gadisar Lake. Vyas Chhatri is a prominent cultural spot dedicated to the Ved Vyas, who wrote the Hindu epic Mahabharata. It is an ancient Brahmin Cemetery and is quite a popular sunset point. Gadisar Lake is also of great historical importance as it was built to meet the water needs of the people. After the historical tour of the day, you will attend N.K. Sharma’s Puppet show, who is a popular historian. Overnight stay at Jaisalmer.
Day6:
Jaisalmer is also known as the “Golden City” because of the famous Golden Jaisalmer Fort. This fort is quite popular as the film “Sonar Kella,” by Satyajit Ray revolves around it. At the fort, you will see Patwon Haveli, Salim Singh Haveli, Jain Temples, and many other 300-400 years old mansions. After lunch, you will check-out from the hotel and proceed to Sam Sand Dunes, which is at a distance of 40 Km. On your arrival, you will check-in at a pre-booked desert camp. You will be greeted with a traditional welcome, and later you will enjoy the Desert Safari Tour on Camel and Jeep. During thesafari, you will visit the Sunset Point in the Desert. In the evening, you can enjoy the cultural Musical Program of Mungniyars along with a buffet dinner. Overnight stay in the camp at Jaisalmer.
Day7:
After checking-out from the Desert Camp, you will travel to Jodhpur today with a 5 hours ride. Jodhpur, famously known as the “Blue City” is also the second-largest city of Rajasthan. It is a spectacular destination enriched with Rajputana Architecture. On arrival at Jodhpur, you will check-in at the hotel, take some rest and start sightseeing by visiting the impressive Clock Tower and the Local Markets of Jodhpur. After that, you will explore the mesmerizing Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, and Jaswant Thada. The legendary Mehrangarh Fort is impregnable and stands on a hill of 125 km height. Umaid Bhawan Palace is another example of brilliant architecture which was known as Chittar Palace because it was built with materials brought from Chittar Hills. The last destination, which is the Jaswant Thada, is a memorial dedicated to Jaswant Singh, who was a good ruler. After spending the day admiring the stunning beauty of the surroundings and local people, overnight stay at Jodhpur.
Day8:
With an early morning breakfast, you will leave for Mt. Abu. Mt. Abu is the only hill station of the State and is a comfortable location amidst the dry desert climate. It will be a journey of 260 Km for 4.5 hours. On your arrival at Mt. Abu, you will check-in at the hotel. After some rest, you will begin sightseeing by visiting the Achalgarh village, where the extraordinary Achalgarh Fort is located, and then move on to Mt. Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, which is enriched with varied species of birds and animals. Next, you will see the famous Dilwara Temples, which are perfectly created from the white marbles, and then move on to visit the Arbuda Devi Temple, and Guru Shikhar. In the evening, you can spend your time at Nakki Lake and then do some shopping. Overnight stay at Mt. Abu.
Day9:
After breakfast, you will proceed to Udaipur, which will take 3 hours to reach. Udaipur is encapsulated by the Aravalli Hills and is very popular for its Lakes. Once you check-in at the hotel, you can take rest. In the afternoon, you will go for a breathtaking boat tour in the picturesque Lake Pichola. The Royal Heritage buildings around the lake are truly admirable, and you can enjoy the scenic view of the sunset. From the lake, you can also witness the magnificent view of the City Palace stretching along the east bank, while the south bank has pleasant gardens running down the waterside. Overnight stay at the hotel in Udaipur.
Day10:
You will start your day early by visiting some of the most exciting places in Udaipur. You will begin with the City Palace, which stands by the bank of Lake Pichola and also has a museum preserving the antics. Then you will visit the Sajjangarh Palace, Fateh Sagar Lake, and Eklingji Temple. The Fateh Sagar Lake has an island on which the Udaipur Solar Observatory is located. After that, you will explore the Vintage Car Museum, which has a collection of classic cars owned by the various rulers of Udaipur. Next, you will go to the popular Jaisam and Lake, which is the second-largest man-made lake in Asia. The Jag Mandir Palace, our next spot, is located on an island of Lake Pichola and this palace is said to be the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. After this, you will enjoy the greenery and fresh air amidst the different gardens that you will visit. You will begin with the Doodh Talai Musical Garden, Jagdish Temple, Gulab Bagh and Zoo. Shaheliyon ki Bari, which is another favorite tourist spot, was meant for the women in the earlier times and has a blissful scenery of fountains and a lotus pond. Our last destination Shilpgram is a village that is a living museum exhibiting the folk lifestyle of the local people and their rural arts and crafts. At the end of the day, you will visit Hath Pol Bazar, followed by Bara Bazar, for some shopping. Overnight stay will be at Udaipur.
Day11:
Early in the morning after breakfast, today, you will head towards Chittorgarh with a 120 Km ride, which will take almost 2.5 hours. After check-in at the hotel, you will visit the famous Chittorgarh Fort, whose construction is said to have been started by Bheem, one of the Pandav brothers from Mahabharata. Then it will be followed by Rana Kumbha Palace, Kirti Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace Museum, and Ratan Singh Palace. Although the Rana Kumbha Palace is in ruins but it is still an interesting place of great historical significance. The Fateh Prakash Palace served as the residential palace of the Royal Family, and the Ratan Singh Palace was their winter palace. In the evening, you can do some shopping followed by dinner with local cuisine. Overnight stay at Chittorgarh.
Day12:
Today, after you check-out from the hotel, you will travel to Pushkar with a 5 hours drive. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities and is a popular destination for fairs and festivities. Tourists gather here every year for the celebrations of this unique city. On your arrival, at Pushkar, you will go sightseeing. Pushkar, the name suggests Blue lotus flower, is in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, and the annual Pushkar Camel Fair takes place here. The first destinations to visit will be Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple. Pushkar Lake is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites, and the Brahma Temple is an ancient traditional temple devoted to Lord Brahma. After that, we will head towards Savitri Temple, which is also an old temple dedicated to goddess Savitri, Lord Brahma’s Wife. Man Mahal which is the last destination of Pushkar is a royal guest house built for Raja Man Singh. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to Jaipur, which is 145 Km from there. Once you reach, you will check-in at the hotel and overnight stay at Jaipur.
Day13:
Today, you will spend your day exploring the Pink City, Jaipur, which is the first planned city. You will start with the Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jantar Mantar. The magnificent Hawa Mahal, the landmark of Jaipur, literally means the “Palace of Wind”. The palace is full of windows that act as an air conditioner. The City Palace is still the home of the Royal Family and is a structure made of Mughal and Rajput architecture. Jantar Mantar, which is now a World Heritage Site, is one of the largest Astronomical Observatories in the world. Then you will go to the Amer area, where you will find the Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort. The world’s largest canon can be seen in the Jaigarh Fort, and the Nahargarh Fort that is located at a great height on the Aravalli hills is a majestic structure attracting tourists. After that, you will have lunch and take some rest, andget ready for the activities in the evening. The Tour of Birla Temple, Albert Hall, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, would be the initial stops for the evening. The Jal Mahal or The Lake Palace is half-submerged in the Lake and half above the water. The evening views of these palaces are some of the most breathtaking views of this trip. After that, you will attend the light and sound show at Amber Fort. After the show, you will go to Chokhi Dhani to attend a cultural program with dinner. Then you will return to the hotel and overnight stay at Jaipur.
Day14:
With your journey coming to an end, you will check-out from the hotel soon after breakfast today. You will prepare to leave for New Delhi, which will be a long journey of 275 Km. After reaching New Delhi, you will head towards the Airport or Railway Station for a return journey to your hometown with lots of memories for a lifetime.
