Overview:

Miles away from Ranchi’s capital city, there is a utopian English village where people visit for a weekend tour. This hilly town appears to be straight out of a painting with green nature all around, hills and grasslands. Inhabited by several tribal communities, this place is a heaven for nature-lovers, bird-watchers, and people looking for peace and calmness for a couple of days in their busy scheduled lives.

Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1:

To reach Mcclukiegunj, you will have to arrive at the Ranchi Airport or the railway station and take a 2Hrs (70Kms) drive to Mcclukiegunj. There you will stay at the Heritage Bungalow. The 8-acre bungalow is surrounded by greenery and has a calm atmosphere. You can relax or look around the bungalow’s landscaped gardens and later enjoy a delicious meal at lunch.
Spend the evening at the bungalow, relax and spend some time with yourself. You will stay the night in Mcclukiegunj.

Day2:

In the morning, after having your breakfast at the bungalow, you will take a look around the small hill-top town. Located on the Chotanagpur Plateau, Mccluskeigunj was inhabited by the tribes. For a long time, the place was a center nurturing the Anglo-Indian cultures. Here, amidst the lush forest and grasslands, you will calm yourself with some silent birdwatching. Later you can walk pass some British architectural buildings, churches, quaint bungalows on your way. You can also enjoy a walk to the nearby tribal villages, or if you are adventurous, you can again hike to the top of the local hills while enjoying the serene panoramic views of the town.
Spending an afternoon on the banks of river Dugadugi enjoying a picnic can also be a lovely way of enjoying the last day at Mccluskeigunj. You can also return to the bungalow in the afternoon, have your lunch there, listen to music, or read a book.
In the evening, the locals at the bungalow will arrange a tribal dance performance for you to appreciate while relishing a delicious dinner. You will spend the night in Mccluskiegunj.

Day3:

Before checking out from the bungalow, you will eat an early morning breakfast and be on your way to the Ranchi airport or railway station with the trip coming to an end.
