Overview:

Any explorer or adventurer cannot afford to miss a trip to the charismatic forests of Dooars/Duars. Spread from North to East on the Himalayan region, it offers a peaceful, quick gate-away destination from the tedious and monotonous city life. While in Dooars, you will have the opportunity to spot some one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, pythons, rare species of birds, insects, and reptiles, and variety of deer in the dense forests of Jaldapara and Gorumara. The picturesque small village of Jayanti located along the River Jayanti will be a real treat for your eyes, and a trip to the Buxa Fort will be as adventurous as it will be educational, narrating the history of Bhutan.

Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1:NJP/Bagdogra-Jaldapara (3Hrs journey)

After arriving at NJP or Bagdogra, take a 3 hours journey to Jaldapara. Reaching there, take a tour of the National Park, followed by another tour of the Khaibari Leopard Rescue Centre. Later check into a resort at Jaldapara and spend the rest of your day there.

Day2:

In the morning, with a fresh new day, start your safari to theJaldapara National Park. Locatedat the foothills of Eastern Himalayas, on the bank of River Torsha, the safari to this riverine forest will allow you to come across some famous one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, bison, wild deer and many others. Even the sky will be a canvas for you to spot some rare variety of birds. Later in the day, you will travel to the village of Jayanti through Phuntsholing on the border of Bhutan. After checking into the hotel, you can have the rest of the day to yourself.

Day3:Local Sightseeing at Buxa Tiger Reserve

After breakfast, you will leave for a day-long tour, starting with your visit to the Mahakal Temple, followed by the trip to Santalabari and Buxa Fort.Santalabari is a quaint little village situated in the core area of Buxa Tiger Reserve,  a popular destination for all nature lovers. Your last stop for the day is the Buxa Fort, also located amid the reserve.  The King of Bhutan built the fort for the protection of the Silk Route between Bhutan and Tibet. Therefore, the ruin of the fort has a historical significance nowadays, and the place is worth spending some hours there.You will return to your hotel in Jayanti and spend the night.

Day4:Jayanti-Gorumara (99993Hrs Journey)

The day will start with a visit to Jhalang and Bindu. From there, the next stop would be the famous Gorumara National Park. This National Park is also famous for its varied range of wildlife. From popular Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros to Royal Bengal Tigers and leopards, the place offers sanctuary to many wild animals and birds. After the safari, you will travel to Murti, a small place in Dooars, situated beside the Murti River between Chapramari forest and Gorumara National Park. It is the mesmerizing scenic beauty of the place that attracts the tourists. There you 0will check into your hoteland spend the rest of the night.

Day5: Local tour around Gorumara National Park.

Once the morning local tour around the national park is over, your next stop in Dooars tour will be Samsing and Suntalekhola.The village of Samsing offers a serene image, located amidst lush vegetation, vast tea gardens, and forests, orange orchards, surrounded by hills. Suntalekhola is another hamlet located on a setting of luxuriant gardens and dense forests. Later return to your hotel in Murti for a night stay.

Day6:Gorumara- NJP/Bagdogra (2Hrs Journey)

On your last day, you will be returning to your abode from NJP or Bagdogra with sweet and captivating memories of your Dooars trip.
