Overview:

From snow-capped mountains to the lush green tea plantations, Darjeeling exceeds in its aesthetic appeal. Your trip will take through less frequented, yet gorgeous hidden gems of the hills surrounding Darjeeling. Beginning from the little serene little village of Latpanchar, the destinations will vary from beautiful lakes to archaic architecture. Away from the hustle-bustle of the city and hectic routine of life, these hill towns will charm their way into your heart and memories, until next time.

Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1:

After your arrival at NJP / Bagdogra airport, you will be transferred to Latpanchar. It is a quaint little hamlet located on the highest part of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you will get to witness a breathtaking view of the Kangchenjunga and different kinds of plantations. This beautiful village, with a wide variety of birds, is also a bird watcher’s paradise.

You will next visit the NamthingPokhri, a beautiful natural lake that homes the rare Himalayan Salamander and has a beautiful ambience to it. The indigenous Lepcha Monasteries, with their intricate occult style and structure, will be your last destination for the day.

Day2:

After a scrumptious breakfast, you will check-out from Latpanchar. You will then be transferred to Shelpu village.  This scenic village is part of a cluster of villages of upper Sittong, near Ahal Dara. You will get to see an absolutely stunning view of the Kangchenjunga and a bird’s eye view of Teesta River. Your night stay will be at Shelpu.

Day3:

The next day, you will be transferred to Kurseong. A 2-hour drive away from Latpanchar, Kurseong, with its pleasant climate and hill slopes covered in Orchids, is known as the “Land of White Orchids”. Here, your stay will be at the gorgeous and welcoming Single tea Estate, just 3 Km away from Kurseong. Enthralled by the charm of the delightful village, your stay will be at the Tea Estate Bungalow. Your stay will include an enlightening visit to the Tea processing factory.

Day4:

The next morning, you will start your day with a short trek to the Balason River. The softly cascading river carries with a sombre and pleasing ambience and will be a delightful place for you to visit. After that, your next visit will be at the Dow Hill forest museum. Located in Dow Hill, the museum is supervised by the forest department and is particularly famous for its coffee, berry, orange, and glorious orchards. Your night stay will be at Single Tea estate.

Day5:

After breakfast, Early morning start for Darjeeling. On arrival, Darjeeling Check-in hotel. Your day of sightseeing will begin with a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. The next stop for the day will be the only specialized zoo in the country, the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park. Internationally acclaimed for its conservation breeding programs of endangered species like Red Pandas and Tibetan wolf, the zoological park will be an adventurous learning experience. You can spend the evening at yourleisure and do some local shopping.

Day6:

You will spend the day sightseeing the gorgeous town of Darjeeling. Your day will begin with a visit to the Ghoom Monastery. Built-in 1875, it is the largest in Ghoom and contains a statue of Maitreya Buddha or “The Buddha to come.”  With a visit to Tenzing rock, you will proceed towards Lebong valley noted for its racecourse and Gorkha stadium. Your adventures for the day will conclude with a heritage Joy ride by Toy train. During this joyride, you will also see and experience the Batasia Loop, which was commissioned by the British to counter the sharp descent of the valley during the toy train ride. Your delectable dinner for the nightwill be a special Dinner sponsored by Dreamland Escapes Pvt. Ltd.

Day7:

You will then be transferred to NJP / Bagdogra airport. Your return home will bemarked with beautiful memories of adventures and nature.
