Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1: Arrival – Ho Chi Minh city

Your first stop will be Ho Chi Minh city, where you will land at the Tan Son Nhat Airport. Check-in to the hotel and take the rest of the day off after a long flight. Stay the night in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day2:City tour of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) and Cu Chi Tunnels

The fast-paced Ho Chi Minh city is the largest, financially strong, and the capital of Vietnam. With its towering high-rises and other urbanization, the capital city has not forgotten its cultural roots, which are often ornated with temples and other old shrines.

After breakfast, take a tour around the city, starting with the Notre Dame Cathedral. It will be a historical walk through the Central Post Office and the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable War Remnants Museum.

Post the historical tour, go to the Cu Chi Tunnels and witness the incredible architecture with uncountable trap doors, living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, kitchens, and command centers.

After an eventful day, come to the hotel and spend the night.

Day3:Ho Chi Minh – Mekong delta full day – fly to Hanoi

Today after breakfast at the hotel, you will depart from Ho Chi Minh City and visit the Mekong Delta and My Tho’s gateway city. You will explore the delta on a riverboat, flowing through the flora and coming across small rural communities.

Depart Saigon by road to reach  Mekong Delta and its gateway city of My Tho, which is about 72kms away from the city.  Ride across the Mekong Delta through the flora covered islands and small rural communities.  Sail to the Thoi Son Island to visit a local house and taste some fresh fruits from the orchards.

For lunch, indulge in some local cuisine and enjoy the specialty dish, the ‘elephant ear” fish. Post lunch, go to the Tan Thach village and cycle around, meeting the locals, and getting a taste of the local lifestyle.

After spending the day, return to Ho Chi Minh City to catch a flight to Hanoi. You will head to the hotel after arriving at the Noi Bai Airport. Overnight stay at Hanoi.

Day4:

The next morning take a bus ride to Halong city. It will be a beautiful ride coming across the Red River Delta, rich farmlands, rice fields, and local Vietnamese village life.

You will catch a cruise from Halong city, where you will be served with elaborate lunch, welcome drinks, and an unforgettable sea view. You will make a stop at an island and go kayaking to Luon Cave and experience the quiet atmosphere of the bay. You will spend the night on the cruise.

Day5:

Take an early morning breakfast on the cruise and sail to another part of Halong Bay with a view of the Drum Cave and Man’s head Islet at a distance. You will head over to the Van Gia fishing village and get to know about the fisherman lifestyle.

A variety of local cuisine will be served to you on-board. Enjoy the ride back to Halong mainland. Getting off-board, take a small break before heading back to Hanoi city. Return to the hotel in the evening and spend the night in Hanoi.

Note: Halong bay tour will depend on the weather and the availability of the cruise.

Day6:Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc

In the morning, you will leave for Hoa Lu (2.5Hrs) by bus. Today you will visit the capital city of Vietnam, the famous ancient Le temples, and the Dinh dynasties. After this historical tour, you will head for Tam Coc, where you will have lunch around midday. Post lunch, take a boat ride around Tam Coc and sail through beautiful limestone caves. Later take a bike ride through the picturesque villages, paddy fields, and Bich Dong (around 5kms). Drive back to Hanoi at the end of the day and spend the night there at the hotel.

Day7:Hanoi city tour half day – fly to Siem Reap

The next morning you will visit the Ho Chi Minh complex and President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, where his body rests. It was the President’s stilt house from 1958 to 1969. Later go to the museum to learn more about Ho Chi Minh.

The next stop for the day will be One Pillar Pagoda, a structure built in the middle of a pond. Followed by this, visit the first Vietnamese college called the Temple of Literature, dedicated to Confucian. In the afternoon, stop for lunch at any restaurant and head straight to the airport and fly to the next destination, which is Siem Reap.

Check-in to a hotel and spend the night at Siem Reap.

Day8:Siem Reap – Angkor Temples

Take an early morning Tuk Tuk ride to the Ta Phrom Temple in the middle of a jungle. Come back to the hotel and have breakfast, then an hour later, leave for the Angkor Thom City excursion. Witness the enigmatic temples and the Terrace of the Elephants. Drive to Banteay Srei for lunch. The place is a remarkable example of Khmer architecture, built by Jayavarman V guru in 967 AD. Come back to the hotel at the end of the day and spend the night in Siem Reap.

Day9: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake – Departure

In the morning, enjoy a peaceful walk around Siem Reap and later drive to the Tonle Sap lake to take a waterway ride through the floating villages (best time from July to February). Head back to Siem Reap before lunch.

In the afternoon, post-lunch, you can either fly to your next destination or catch a flight back home, returning with sweet memories of this long, satisfying holiday.
