Day to Day Travel Slate:
Day1:
After your arrival at the NJP / Bagdogra airport, you will then be transferred to Jaldapara National Park. Here you will then check-in at the tourist lodge. Jaldapara, a bird watchers paradise, is a beautiful national park situated on the foothills of Eastern Himalayas. After some refreshments, you will visit the South Khayerbari Leopard Rescue centre. It is a unique centre devoted to its endeavours in rescuing leopards from illicit animal smugglers and circuses. The environment is serene, and you will easily be able to spot majestic animals busy in their natural lives. Your night stay will be at Jaldapara.
Day2:
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will be taken for an adventurous Jungle Safari at Jaldapara Forest. Surrounded by majestic animals, the highlight of this safari will see these magnificent animals up close. Your next visit for the day will be at Totopara. Located on the northern fringes of Jaldapara, Totopara is a small town divided into six sectors. Famous throughout the globe for the completely unique and indigenous Toto tribe, which is one of the primitive tribes of the world, Totopara will offer you a great appreciation for different communities. Your night stay will be at Jaldapara.
Day3:
Next morning, you will proceed towards Murti. Originating in the high mountains of Neora Valley National Park, Murti is a serene scenic river that flows through Bengal, Sikkim area. En-route, you will visit Suntalekhola and Jaldhaka Hydel Power. Among the colossal and vast spans of nature, Suntalekhola is a quaint settlement with a tranquil environment. Your next destination, Jaldhaka, will be a valley town hidden high in the hills of Darjeeling. In the afternoon, you will partake in the adventurous jungle safari at Gorumara. Gorumara National Park, situated in the Terai region of Eastern Himalayas, is known for its protection of the growing population of the One-Horned Indian Rhinos. Your night stay will be at Murti
Day4:
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will proceed towards Rikisum. Popular for its breathtaking natural beauty and historical significance, Rikisum is a gorgeous tourist destination. Here you will easily get a panoramic view of the Mt. Kangchenjunga. With an abundance of flora and fauna, Rikisum is quite well known for bird watching. Your night stay will be at Rikisum.
Day5:
The next morning, you will be transferred to Kalimpong. With its quiet atmosphere and serene ambience, the town Kalimpong is a marvel to behold. Famous for its Orchids and nurseries, Kalimpong has an abundance of Monasteries and Churches and will be a beautiful destination for you to visit. Your next visit will be to the Durpin Dara Hill, which offers a breathtaking view of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges. Dr. Graham’s home is a beautiful world of happiness and hope and joy to visit. This institution has strived to provide excellence to numerous kids and give them a bountiful future. This beautiful centre of hope will be your next destination. From here, you will next move to visit the 18 holes Army golf course maintained by the Indian Army stationed at Kalimpong. Your night stay will be at Kalimpong.
Day6:
The next morning, you will have an early morning start for Darjeeling. En-route you will visit Lamahatta. Developed as an eco-tourism spot, Lamahatta offers a serene and quiet environment with beautiful gardens and maze of Dhupi jungle. On your arrival in Darjeeling, you will check-in at the hotel and relax for the night.
Day7:
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will start for a whole day of sight-seeing in the gorgeous hill town of Darjeeling. Darjeeling, with its mesmerising sunrises, and glorious snow-capped hills, will be a beauty to behold. Your first stop for the day will be the only specialized zoo in the country, the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park. Internationally acclaimed for its conservation breeding programs of endangered species like Red Pandas and Tibetan wolf, the zoological park will be an adventurous learning experience. You will next pay a visit to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Built-in 1875, the Ghoom Monastery is the largest in Ghoom and contains a statue of Maitreya Buddha or “The Buddha to come,” and it will be your next destination. With a visit to Tenzing rock, you will proceed towards Lebong valley noted for its racecourse and Gorkha stadium. Your adventures for the day will conclude with a heritage Joy ride by Toy train. During this joyride, you will also see and experience the Batasia Loop, which was commissioned by the British to counter the sharp descent of the valley during the toy train ride. You will rest for the night in Darjeeling.
Day8:
The next morning, you will visit tea estates like such as Mim, Happy Valley, and Glenburn. The Mim Tea Estate was established in the mid to late 1800s and presently is the only tea garden in Darjeeling, entirely run by the govt of India. The next stop of the day, Glenburn, is an exquisite experience in itself. Situated in the high hills of the Himalayas, it overlooks the snow-capped peaks of Kangchenjunga experience. Here you will get a chance to partake in the experience of tea tasting and tea processing. It is bound to enchant the chai-lover in you.
Day9:
Transfer to Tabakoshi, an offbeat tourist spot near Mirik. Tabakoshi is a quaint little hamlet situated away from the hubbubof busy tourist destinations. It will offer you a delightful glimpse into nature and is the ideal destination for bird watchers and nature lovers. Your first trip for the day will be a visit to the delightful village of Lepchajagat. Although just 19 kilometers away from Darjeeling, the village is a world of its own with nature at full bloom, densely forested areas, and a magnificent view of the Kangchenjunga. Your next destination, named after its beautiful twin lakes, will be the village of Jorpokhri. With lovely dense forests of dhupi and pines, the village is a part of the Senchal forest and a nature reserve. You will stay the night at Tabakoshi.
Day10:
The next day, you will visit the delightful town of Mirik. Popularly known for its lakes and mountains, the town is frequently referred to as picturesque and tranquil. Here, you can easily enjoy boating. After a delectable lunch, you will be transferred to NJP / Bagdogra airport. From here you will return home with fond memories of nature, wild animals and serene ambience, until next time.
