Overview:

Singalila National Park is at a very high altitude of about 7000 feet above sea level. It is located towards the northwestern part of West Bengal, cradling as the border between West Bengal and Nepal. This protected forest acts as a gateway for the well known Sandakphu Trek that runs through its enriching greenery. This National Parks houses varied and rarest species of Wild animals and birds and is one of the best places for Birding Adventure. Your six day’s journey will begin from Manebhajan, a quaint town on the way to Singalila, and will end in Darjeeling, popularly known as the “the Queen of Hills”. This trail has beautiful scenery all along and is a delight for Bird Watchers as there are more than 120 species of Migratory and Himalayan Birds that reside here. It is like a heaven for Birding Enthusiasts, as they can capture glimpses of so many colorful chirping Birds and observe them in their activities in the lap of nature. If you are looking for a quiet, blissful holiday with your friends or family, then this journey will be an absolute delight for you.

Day to Day Travel Slate:

Day1:

On your arrival at the Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station, you will be received by our representatives. From there, you will head towards Manebhanjan. Manebhanjan is an exquisite small town that acts as the gateway to the Singalila National Park. It will be a 95 km journey, and you will have to travel for 4 hours to reach Manebhanjan. Upon arriving, you will check-in to the hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Manebhanjan.

Day2:

With an early morning breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your journey towards the Singalila Ridge. The magnificent Singalila Ridge and the rhododendrons running side by side is an extraordinary sight to witness. You will drive to Tumling via Chitrey and Meghma witnessing the Panoramic landscapes on the way. Activities are mostly restricted as travelling by Landrover gains altitude steadily. But you can easily enjoy the blissful environment by treading slowly through the trail. The popular Singalila National Park is one of the essential destinations during the Sandakphu Trek. Thus, the Birding routes are strategically chosen to reach and enjoy the adventures without wasting much time getting stuck in the busy roads. A Professional Birder will be our constant companion throughout the trip to help us spot the rare species of Migratory Birds. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a lodge at Tumling.

Day3:

Today, you will wake up early in the morning to witness the mesmerising sunrise from Tumling top. If the weather is suitable without fog, then the majestic glimpse of the snow-capped peaks of both Singalila and Chola Ranges along with Mt. Kangchenjunga is clearly visible. After enjoying the breathtaking sight, you will return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. Next, you will follow the trail through the Singalila National Park encompassed between the enriching and rarest species of flora and fauna. Some of the varied species of wild animals that can be spotted in the forest are Red Panda, Spotted Linsan, Blood Pheasant, Himalayan Monal etc. If you’re are lucky, mammals like Leopard, Marbel Cat, Yellow-throated Martin, Himalayan Black Bear, Serow Ghoral, Porcupine, Himalayan Palm Civet, Pika, and others can also be seen. The colourful birds like Brown and Fulvous ParrotBills, Rufous-vented Tit, Scarlet Minivet, Khaleej Pheasant, Fire-Tailed Myzorinis, Golden-Breasted Fulvetta etc. can be witnessed amidst the greenery. After the exciting Wildlife and Birding Adventure in the heart of nature, you will return to the lodge in Tumling for dinner and overnight stay.

Day4:

With an early morning rise and a healthy breakfast, we will head towards Sandakphu. On your arrival at Sandakphu, you will check-in to the hotel or lodge. After resting for a while, you will start your conquest towards the highest viewpoint there. If you are fond of snowy peaks, then this will be the best moment of your life. The exceptionally stunning 360-degree view of the Himalayan Peaks, including the five highest peaks of the world, is something you would not want to miss. You will also explore and have a fantastic time listening to the melodious singing and chirping of the winged fellows. It is a serene ambience just to be there and absorb every bit of what nature has to offer. By the end of the glorious day, you will retreat to the lodge at Sandakphu for dinner and overnight stay.

Day5:

Today, early in the morning, you will soak in the beauty of nature as you see the sunrise on the mighty Himalayan Peaks and their changing colours. As soon as breakfast is over, you will drive straight back to Manebhanjan. It will take about 4.5 hours to reach approximately. On your arrival at Manebhanjan, you will be transferred to Darjeeling. Darjeeling, often called “” the queen of the hills, “is quite a renowned Hill station and a beautiful spot for vacations. Once you check-in to the hotel, you can spend the day at your leisure. You can enjoy the locale and talk to the local people to know their culture and traditions better. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.

Day6:

With your journey coming to an end, you will prepare to leave, soon after your breakfast at the hotel. You will proceed for your return journey to your hometown and leave for the Bagdogra airport or NJP Railway station with a camera full of pictures and a heart full of memories.
